Dear Tina,

Words cannot express the beauty of the quilt you made. Let me share with you the significance and power of the gift you made. You see, the quilt is for my mother. If you remember the pictures, I'll kinda go over them with you and share my story. In April of this year I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. I was the picture of the young lady with the scarf. I am 21 now and in April I also found out that I was 7 months pregnant but the cancer was eating all the signs. There was little hope of my or my unborn child to make it so they started chemotherapy right away and on June 18 my son was born healthy and strong. For the past 9 months I have been battling cancer and I'm proud to say I'm winning. In August my older brother was married (hence the pictures of the bride and groom). In July my father had to have back surgery for a very large herniated disk in his back. Two days later my sister (the picture of the girl with the bookbag) had a car accident and was saved. All she had were some minor cuts and bruises. The police thought for sure she was going to die because she was hit headon. Needless to say it has been a busy year for us and through our ups and downs God has smiled upon us. My mother has been the stronghold in our family. She has never complained and she has become my best friend through all this. Your talent of making quilts will put a smile on her face and I'm sure more than a few tears in her eyes. I can't thank you enough and the price was more than worth it.
